The best dive operator on Isla Mujeres. We went snorkeling, SCUBA diving, and to see the whale sharks. Pablo is the owner. He has great communication skills. Enrique is the dive master. His personality is perfect for the job. He’s very patient and knowledgeable. Jesus was our captain. Friendly and very competent. We always felt safe. I highly recommend these guys.
Excelente servicio atención y precio.
100% highly recommend this dive company! The whole reason for this trip was to scuba dive at MUSA and reef dive. We went with Enrique as our guide and Jesus was boat driver and dive assist. It was just us, Enrique and Jesus. I’m not sure if they always run their tours like this, but it was really nice to feel like the tour and dive was based only on us. (See my review for Pocna Dive Center to see why this is important). We had a locker to put our things in. There was no rushed feeling whatsoever the whole time we were with them. Which was comforting as we are still new to diving and this was our first dive outside the Great Lakes so we were unsure what to expect. Enrique was very patient and made us (me) feel completely safe and at ease. Enrique was awesome guide underwater and pointed out things we never would have seen without him! We saw tons of fish, octopus, ray, crab, etc he really let us kind of run the pace underwater and lead the way. Jesus helped us get on our equipment and helped us in and out of boat as well as provided us with bottled water. The tour we had the next day with Pocna Dive Center was nothing like this and we will definitely be booking with Casa Del Buceo and hopefully Enrique in August when we come back to swim with whale sharks (which Enrique told us about on way back) we are very excited. Thank you guys for such a great experience!
Amazing experience with Casa del Buceo! We snorkeled with whale sharks on Saturday and it was awesome. The crew hooked us up and we got in the water with the sharks way more than most other boats and companies. It was incredible! The next day we did a two tank dive and ended up getting a private charter. Quique was our guide for both days and he made it extra special. We had a great time and would definitely choose them again!
If I could give more than five stars – I would! I highly recommend Casa del Buceo to anyone and everyone visiting Isla Mujeres! We had a group of six and did two different excursions with them – the first day we went scuba diving (two dives – reefs and a dive at the Museo) and the second day we went swimming with whale sharks. I really could not say enough good things about both experiences. The owner, Pablo, was gracious, laid back, easy to work with, accommodating and provided clear and comprehensive information. Our captain, Jesus, navigated and kept us safe both days, in addition to spotting the whale sharks on our excursion the second day (no easy task)! Our guide both days (dive master and whale shark swimmer extraordinaire) Enrique was incredible – super knowledgeable, very experienced, patient, hilarious and overall the best guide you could imagine. He paid attention to every detail (both for our safety and our enjoyment), answered any question, knew the reefs and sea life in depth and made sure that everyone had the best possible time. On our whale shark excursion, we arrived at a pod of 50-60 whale sharks 30+ minutes before any other boats, meaning we had the entire experience to ourselves (before dozens of other boats arrived). This alone was priceless, but the entire experience was so well coordinated – each pair of two got to swim with the whale sharks up close and Enrique and Jesus made a competent and extremely efficient pair. At the end of the whale shark excursion, we boated to Playa Norte (saw sea turtles and dolphins on the way), swam in the beautiful water and relaxed with sandwiches, fruit and drinks. Lastly, Enrique captured dozens of photos and videos throughout both our dives and whale shark swimming and shared them all free of cost. He went above and beyond to document the experience for us while keeping an eye on everything and everyone and providing us unparalleled and unforgettable memories. Overall, diving / snorkeling / whale shark swimming with Casa del Buceo would be the one experience you can’t miss while on Isla Mujeres 😊
Enrique repito MIL GRACIAS!!!! Me voy con el corazón contento.
Top experience here. We are not super advanced divers, but instructor Enrique made us feel comfortable and explained it all very well with a touch of humor. No need to drag with all the equipment as the dive center is at the quay. Fair prices, (2000$ for 2 tanks). In low seaon you might even have the boat all to yourself!
Great diving with Enrique. All the fish you’d ever want to see. And, even better, at least 20 or more leather back turtles within 1 metre or so. Amazing! Thanks Jo and Jonathan.
Excelente servicio!!! Muy recomendable!!!
2 great days of diving with Casa Del Buceo. Kike was our divemaster and absolutely fantastic. Saw eels, sail fish, stingrays, eagle ray, nurse shark, octopus, lobster, crap, barracuda and a beautiful turtle. its great that they are right on the water and you don’t need to lug your gear. would dive with them again.
The staff there is amazing! Pablo and Enrique are so great to work with! They really allowed us to maximize on our experience and i highly recommend this place.
Pablo, Enrique and the entire crew are professional, personable and top notch all the way around. I’ve been diving for over 32 years and I trusted them to certify my eldest son. There were no shortcuts taken. The day after he was certified, we went out to wreck C-55 and another drift dive. I won’t dive with anyone else while on Isla Mujeres!
Absolutely amazing! We went out snorkeling on two different days. The guide and captain were both awesome. Thank you for a spectacular trip!
My wife and I hadn’t dived for a couple years and since our last dive we had developed a couple health problems ( ok we’re old) and required a little extra attention. We really didn’t go to Isla to dive, but after stumbling upon this outfit we decided we best not miss the chance. Pablo, the proprietor, took us through a very professional refresher orientation, then a thorough dive briefing before turning us over to his crew. Captain José and divemaster Enrique went above and beyond to make our dive an unbelievable experience all the while adjusting to our special needs. Gracias Casa Del Buseo for all you did.
Casa Del Buceo is a great place to snorkel and see whale sharks. We’ve been there many times over the years!
We had the best experience scuba diving with Casa Del Buceo!!! Captain and crew were 5 star!!!! Thanks guys for the experience, friendship, and fantastic day in the water!!
Fantastic group of people. My only regret is not diving everyday with them while here. I will definitely be back.
My group wanted to do snorkeling and at first I was going to go with a place off Viator but Reddit steered me to Casa del Buceo – it’s a small locally owned business and the prices are very fair compared to other places. For reference, a private group of eight on a 2 hour snorkeling tour was 1500 pesos per person. I think we could have done 2.5 hours but more on that later. Booking and confirming the reservation was a breeze – I did it all over email but they also have WhatsApp. Two days before our scheduled date, they asked to push it to a day earlier because the weather was looking bad the morning that we requested so I felt very reassured that they were keeping an eye on the forecast. Now I’ve only gone snorkeling once before but the snorkeling around the island gets pretty choppy with the waves. I’m saying that as someone who gets seasick at the drop of a hat and even thought I took medication before this trip, I still got super seasick as soon as the boat stopped and we were just swaying around and putting on our fins. Getting in the water and seeing all the cool fish (the visibility was great) helped but by the end of the second snorkeling stop (where they took us out much deeper and the waves were ROUGH), a few others and I were basically green and we called the end of the tour and headed back. I can’t say enough good things about the people who work here, from the guy who helped get us set up with our equipment and later brought me a mug of super fizzy Coke to help settle my stomach to our tour guide who pointed out neat things below us (like the underwater sculptures at MUSA). I will say that the actual mechanics of snorkeling was a learn as you go approach – we didn’t get much instruction other than just to blow on the googles if they fogged up – so unless you’re an experienced snorkeler/swimmer, you might spend the first ten minutes accidentally gulping salt water. Once I did get the hang of it, it was a lot of fun. And even though the open water got terrifying near the end and, despite my nausea, I was fighting back fears of being swept away on the current, I felt safe that our guide was somewhere close around us. I don’t think snorkeling is in the cards for me in the near future but for anyone else who’s interested, I can’t recommend CdB enough!
Great Yelp find. Boutique shop with personal caring service. We did a private 1/4 day snorkeling trip. Brought our own gear but quickly found that it was no bueno. The captain and tour guide never missed a beat. They had extra gear for us even giving my daughter his own mask to use. Totally saved the day. They swam along side us pointing out just the right places to be and see. Alway felt my family was safe and well attended. Very windy with choppy seas and rain. Captain was an ace and knew just how to handle the boat. Super visibility and wonderful variety of marine life. The shop was quaint and meticulously clean. Muchos gracious Amigos!
Such a great little location. I’m really glad we found it. We went on their whale shark excursion and also did two reef dives! It was absolutely breathtaking. Our dive master and guide Enrique was AMAZING. He made the experience a lot of fun and made sure we were safe the whole time, while also getting to appreciate the things we saw. I’m so glad my husband found this place, and we will be coming back next time we’re in the area.
Due to uncertainties with Airlines, we did not book any activities for our trip to Cancun. upon reaching Isla Mujeres, Rented a golf cart and wandered around the island. I am an NON SWIMMER but I enjoy snorkeling. went to Casa Del Buceo after seeing their sign board and we are glad we did that. The owner at Casa Del Buceo was very friendly, helpful and informative. Understanding my limitation (Zero Swimmer) he explained everything, made me comfortable and assigned Louis to be our guide in water. Louis is an excellent guide, who helped our family enjoy the snorkeling while making sure that I am safe and enjoying too. I will bring my daughter back for her first diving experience next year.
I brought my 14 year old daughter in to complete her open water certification as a referral diver. I met Pablo the day before, he was extremely nice, explained everything and got us fitted for gear. The next day we met the instructor Carlos. Couldn’t have asked for a better guy! My daughter was so nervous. Her anxiety built and built on the boat ride to the dive site. When it came time to get off the boat and into the water, you could tell she wanted to back out. We got her in the water and Carlos held her hand while swimming to the buoy and on the line while descending, making eye contact and checking in along the way. As a mother, I was elated and grateful; knowing she was made to feel safe and how well she would be cared for. I highly recommend this great place and these wonderful people. We dive again tomorrow and who knows how many more times this week. I will go back to them every time while here on Isla Mujeres!
I typically never write reviews but this one was a must! We found this boutique place on Yelp and it was amazing!!!! Pablo picked us up from the ferry stop (free of cost) and Luis was our guide. For simply $60 US dollars- per person we got a private small boat, private captain (papo with over 20+++ years of experience) and private guide, Luis who swam with us to the 4 different spots around the island. The snorkeling was amazing! The water was yet blue… we saw fishes, turtles, corals etc.this was def one of the highlights of our honeymoon. I wish we could’ve done scuba diving but as they explained we needed more time away from flying the airplane back home. EVERY GUY in this place was either a professional fisher, diver, captain or local in the island. I can’t say enough GREAT things about the attention they gave us!! Our guide Luis even helped another company with their snorkeling clients because their guide sucked and some ppl almost hit the coral…. Which they explained is not only dangerous but venomous. Who ever is in Cancun, tulum, playa del Carmen OR Isla mujeres needs try this place!!! This is one of the hidden gems for the price and all it includes: snorkeling, scuba diving, swimming with sharks OR anything else they offer.
Recently went on my first night dive with this company. It was amazing. Very professional, organized and I felt safe the entire time. Saw some amazing sights and I will definitely go again with Pablo and his team the night time I am in Isla Mujeres.
Pablo and his team were awesome! Enrique was really safe and fun to dive with. He has amazing eyes underwater and spotted so many little things that I would have never caught on my own. The shallow reefs of Isla provide easy diving and they are full of life! The night dive ranked as one of my top dives because there was so much to see! The whale shark tours were also stellar with these guys. Enrique and Jose were great guides in the water and Darwin is a master at positioning the boat for the best spot for you to jump in. Also an extra thanks to Pablo for offering to switch us days for better conditions.<br>
I would recommend booking the Whale Sharks twice. The first time you do it you will be so excited that it is hard to take it all in. Doing it a second time really allowed me create memories that my wife and I will never forget. Plus every day is different so the experience changes. I can’t think of a better way to spend $125.
Hadn’t dove in ten years, but i told them that I’m very comfortable in the water and would learn quick. So they gave me a refresher course and hooked me up. Enrique was a guide, he was amazing, super knowledgable, and I felt very safe with him. 1st day went on a 2 tank reef dive and had a great time. They speak fluent English and let you go at your own pace. Loved it so much I went on a ship dive the next day. It was so beautiful, I loved it very much! Went down 90 ft on the ship dive. They provided water while on the boat. Great people.
Just got back to The US from two amazing weeks of diving with Casa Del Buceo. This is one of the best operators I’ve ever worked with. The Dive Guides (Jorge & Enrique) are both phenomenal in the water and on the boat. It did not matter that our divers ranged from beginners who only get in the water once a year, to Dive Masters who dive every other month. Every single person’s needs were met. They helped the beginners (rarely have I seen anyone so incredibly patient, caring, and professional) and made sure the advanced divers also had enjoyable dives (even practicing skills like navigation / SMB deployment and a citizen science project). Nothing went unnoticed or overlooked. With two dives every day – from bioluminescents and octopus on our night dive to tiny critters for our macro enthusiasts; from nurse sharks to whale sharks to big schools of fish and a healthy reef, we shared so much. Jesus is a top-notch boat captain – he kept track of us and our belongings (even when we didn’t ourselves), daily. I don’t think there was one thing we asked for (an extra mask, fins, bandaids, etc) that he didn’t have. None of that is his “responsibility” and that’s the thing I love most. Every single person I interacted with at Casa Del Buceo works with heart – they truly care, and that shows in everything they do. Pablo was easy to work with, accommodating and professional. I leave Isla Mujeres not only with great memories of truly beautiful dives/snorkels and experiences but also feeling like I’ve met several new, life-long friends.
Excelente servicio. Seguro regresamos.
Crew at dive shop very friendly and helpful especially if you speak Spanish and they speak English as well. Enrique showed us many fish species we would have missed as they are so cryptic. We were lucky in this off season to see a couple of hawksbill young turtles. Owner Pablo and dive instructor Carlos insured fun and safe trips for us all. Sounds like June through August are primo for seeing whale sharks and many turtles.
We did 2 spots for 900 pesos each. José the captain even came to pick us up in the morning near the ferry.
Luis was very kind and guided us well.
A lot of fish. Super clean equipment. Pablo welcoming and puts no pressure. We went around 7am and were alone on the boat. Highly recommend this company 🙂
I cannot say enough positive things about this family business, that has over 30 years of experience. Enrique is a friend and DM that I scuba dive with on many occasions, including this 7 dive week. Everyone at Casa del Buceo is friendly, helpful, courteous, knowledgeable, caring, etcetera. I did 6 day dives and 1 night dive while I was there, and each time was more and more special. Much blessings to everyone at Casa del Buceo 🙏🏽 .. I will be back sometime this year for more diving experiences. MOST VISIT AND DIVE HERE!! Don’t forget to tip, please. The DM’s and Captains work hard at keeping everyone safe and comfortable. I trust them. Thank you familia Casa del Buceo.
First of all we had a great time snorkeling with our guide Roberto. He was lovely. We saw the artificial reef first and then the natural reef around the lighthouse after. Sooo many fish, it was amazing. However we had booked and confirmed our trip via email on Friday and even paid a deposit via paypal, for the longer trip at 8am on Sunday, and when we showed up at 8am they seemed to not have been expecting us and told us to come back in an hour, so we went and had breakfast and came back at 9. When we returned we were then taken on the short snorkeling trip instead of the longer one which we had reserved. We didn’t realize we were heading back until it was too late so we didn’t say anything until they tried to charge us for the longer trip and we had to explain that we were only taken on the shorter trip so then we were charged the correct amount. It was okay though, we still had a good time, just seemed like they were a bit disorganized and had some miscommunications between the staff so make sure you double confirm your reservations with them.
My wife and I just returned from a trip to Isla Mujeres. Our main goal of the trip was to dive. We choose to dive with Casa Del Buceo which translates to house of diving. It was an excellent choice. It is a small dive shop but has everything of a big shop. Our experience with the dive shop was great. It all started with the reservation staff. They made the process of arranging the trip very easy and were very quick to respond.
Once the day of the dives arrived, we were greeted with a friendly staff who quickly set us up all the needed equipment, and they quickly got us to the boat. Our dive master was Enrique. He was a pleasure to dive with. We stuck with the reef and Musa dives for all our dives. Although the depth was 30 feet, there was plenty to see and the dives lasted for around a hour using Nitrox. The amount of fish was just amazing. There were huge schools of fish everywhere. We also had some very good turtle encounters. We were very happy with the diving. Our experience diving with Casa Del Buceo was a pleasant experience. When we return to Isla Mujeres we will definitely dive with them again.
They would be a great choice for your dive trips too.
This small dive shop was recommended to me by a small shop in Playa where I did cenote diving in October. I wanted a small shop where I could customize my dives. My buddy and I are advanced open water certified and realizing that Isla is not a diving Mecca we wanted to steer clear of the tourist trap “cattle boats” that dive the Museum. I made all arrangements beforehand seamlessly via Whatsapp. They were incredibly responsive. We did three two tank dives with private boat and guide (small boat). Enrique, an Isla “lifer” was our guide. Had nitrox. I think they have three boats. It wasn’t Cozumel but the dives were very chill!!! Day 1 reef dives,Day 2 wreck dives Day 3 drift dives. We ran into no other divers. We stored our gear there between dives (always travel with my own) although they had gear there to rent. They are a 100-140 peso cab ride from Playa Norte. Cabs not a problem. Not a fancy dive shop but a good one. Dive experience was around $750 USD a person, well worth it. If you want to dive Isla this is a good shop. For those of you who want to do the Whale sharks in season this is the way to go. Avoid the cattle boats. The private boat/dive is the only way.
We did a fantastic dives, we started in the morning, with our super host Enrique, he told us about the dive places and suggestions, we decided to go to dive at garden place and MUSA (underwater museum), so my wife and I get ready and go… The 1st dive was beautiful, really nice at garden place we were up to 60 min, beautiful! The 2nd also amazing, we were at the MUSA and I have been there in the past but know the coral reef grown on the structures and looks really beautiful. 3rd dive was at night, it was just fantastic, the marine life available was super !! We enjoyed very much. The Casa del buceo were very profesionals and excelent service, we will come back with the rest of the family soon…
